Hi lovelies!!
How’s your weekend going? Mine couldn’t have been better!
This weekend my mum went crazy baking-wise, honestly haven’t seen her bake that much for ages. So if you are struggling for ideas get inspired by her, she absolutely nailed it😊
For a bit of context…
She was never fond of spending loads of time cooking or baking and since I was about 16 I’ve been responsible for half of the Sunday dinners hahaha But thanks to her I took up baking and cooking as a hobbies! I remember being 4, maybe 5, and having a special cookbook with treats for kids. Butterfly shaped cakes, smiley face biscuits, you know the one! I absolutely loved it and we made almost every recipe from that book, some even more than once. I’ve even recreated one of them last summer, partly out of boredom but also the desire for that unique taste… Cheesecake filling between biscuits topped with a layer of chocolate sauce… it turned out like that: https://www.instagram.com/p/BylQYBDii3c/ DREAMY!

This weekend she kicked off with surprising us all with delicious sweet rolls with blackcurrant and cheesecake filling. The dough was so delicate and the sour fruits and sweetness of the cheesy mix balanced each other out perfectly. Alyssum standard bake, hands down!
Later the same day, I was shocked when I saw her mixing the ingredients for pizza dough <3 We all helped out with the kneading, chopping up topping and layering. It resulted in one of the best pizza nights we had with fam (and my boy Simon).

Today I woke up to a pound cake in the oven! They’re really popular in Poland, where I’m from, but I don’t remember when was the last time I had it since uni started. The classic mix of vanilla and chocolate couldn’t go wrong, just look at the swirls. So dessert today was peng, I wonder if she’s in the kitchen now, working her magic to surprise us all with another deliciousness...

Hit us up on fb or insta if you’re interested in a family recipe for one (or all!) of the bakes, I’m sure she’ll be more than happy to share.
HUGE THANK YOUS TO ALL MUMS TRYING TO MAKE US LESS STRESSED DURING THIS WEIRD TIME, WE LOVE YOU!
Karol xx
